The Turgid Taste

by

I have been a fan of Nerve.com since their conception. They constantly ran a version of “Real Sex” on HBO that was designed by Nerve, and as I was “coming of age” at the time, it was the best thing since sliced bread.

(If you’re also a fan of Nerve.com and have seen that show, you now have me dated.)

As you know, I toy with erotica. I prefer mine a bit on the kinky side, exploring BDSM and bi-curiousity and other things that I’ve dabbled in through the years. I find that exploring through erotica allows me to “try” things safely, and to find my footing before I venture out.

However, there are times when good erotica can go horribly, HORRIBLY wrong.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you NERVE’S BAD EROTICA CONTEST.

While I have mixed feelings about sending you off unsatisfied, it is definitely worth clicking over. Because, in my humblest of opinions, you must have a fantastic sense of humor to truly enjoy sex.

This stuff CRACKED me up! Thanks for NOT writing like that!

Bi-curious seems like one of those topics that invites misunderstanding. If a woman has sexual urges or fantasies about another woman, she can certainly explore that through erotica. But at some point, there is a danger of being a user and a taker. Just my 2 cents.

Interesting.. I’m “curious” (ha!) as to what you mean by that. How does writing fictional erotica take and/or use? Or am I reading to literally into that? (I do words, I tend to read literally.) :)

There is a delicate power balance between lovers, whether long-time or a hook-up. When it comes to exploring boundaries like same-sex connections, it’s even trickier, especially as we are often hung up on labels. A self-identified lesbian will not consider sex with a man, and a “straight” woman will dally with another, but treat the encounter as mere play. Erotica, like all written words, can arouse or distort those impulses.
